在外交部、國防部及我駐印度代表處通力合作，並經印度政府協助下，位於印度東部Jharkhand省蘭伽（Ramgarh）之「中華民國駐印軍蘭伽公墓」，歷經數月修葺，已於本（12）月9日竣工，並由我駐印度代表處與國防部共同主持竣工典禮，佛光山駐加爾各答中心及加爾各答僑界應邀觀禮，以表達對我抗戰先烈將士們的崇高敬意。
蘭伽位於印度東部Jharkhand省首府蘭齊（Ranchi）市北郊，距加爾各答約350公里，為二次大戰期間中華民國駐印軍駐紮及訓練營區所在地。1941年12月7日太平洋戰爭爆發，1942年1月日軍進攻緬甸，我國應英國要求派軍入緬，協助英軍抵抗。同年7、8月間我陸軍新編第38師及新編第22師分別開赴蘭伽整訓，其後擴編為新編第一軍及新編第六軍，並組成中華民國駐印軍。駐印軍自1943年起參與反攻緬北作戰，成功打通滇緬公路，恢復我國國際交通，於二次大戰「中緬印戰區（CBI Theater）」及我對日抗戰戰局居功厥偉。
「中華民國駐印軍蘭伽公墓」係於1983年整修完成，駐印軍蘭伽整訓期間亡故官兵皆葬於該地，所葬忠骸之牌位已於2000年奉迎回國，原墓址仍然保持。為使抗戰史蹟不致湮沒並彰顯烈士勛功，外交部偕同國防部自上（2010）年起計劃整修工程，工程自本（2011）年7月破土動工，本年12月竣工驗收。

中華民國政府領導八年艱苦抗戰，組成駐印軍並與盟軍合作，在印緬地區英勇反攻，烈士英魂不遠，事蹟將永昭青史。（E）
