English: Crinoids, which are not plants but echinoderms like sea urchins, starfishes and sea cucumbers, use their cilia to filter plankton and spread across parts of the seafloor from the Cambrian to the Permian. They were named for a long, flower-like arms that grew out of the cup-holder-like upper edge. |
