| Description |
中文（臺灣）：臺南市在日治時期為南部地區的第一大城市。其中最具重要性的一條街道，即為末廣町通，末廣町二丁目即為「林百貨」所在地區。此地區當時習稱「銀座」，為日人主要的活動商圈，與本地人主要在「西市場」一帶購物的商圈，形成不同的生活區域。「林百貨」在末廣町店鋪住宅群組中，樓層最高，達6層、面積最大合計共584坪，佔全部面積之17.39%；同時擁有唯一的電梯，此於臺灣南部地區首見於商業建築的進步象徵。
