中文（臺灣）：「禁止踐踏塚地乞食祭餘及捐題碑」立於員山新城埔大眾廟前臨永同路邊，為1866（同治5）年6月甫接任噶瑪蘭通判的章覲文所設。碑文主要內容提到，噶瑪蘭城仕紳李春波、林國翰、楊士芳、黃纘緒、李逢時、黃鏘、李望洋、林步瀛、陳玉盤、江有章、李家亮、蘇國棟、黃玉瑤、李光昭、潘家修、李仰嵐、楊以仁、陳成仁等人向通判章覲文陳情，指稱在新城庄此處墓地疊葬，無主之墓經常有放牧者縱放牛羊豬犬在墳塚上踐踏，致使輕者棺木或金斗甕露出，嚴重者白骨暴露。另有一批遊手好閒之輩，向前來祭掃新墓乞討祭品，甚至藉由作弄墓碑勒索民人。因此，章覲文勒碑禁止此等情事，若有違犯者，將呈官究辦絕不寬貸。 |
