中文：排灣族牡丹社（高雄州恆春郡蕃地牡丹社）林吉牡所有的無袖短上衣（1956年9月7日入藏國立臺灣大學）
English: Traditional Paiwan social structure is hierarchal. In this system, the family name, the family house, and genealogical status are inherited by the firstborn child irrespective of gender. The aristocrats are entiled to land ownership, and the commoners must contribute to residency, planting, hunting, lumbering, and water rights. The privileges of the nobles also include tatooing and the use of human head and the hundred-pacer snake motifs on carvings and clothes decorations. Bronze knives, glass beads, and ancient ceramic pots are the important heirlooms and status symbol of the nobles.
