English: During the time of the Qing Emperors Yongzheng and Qianlong (1723-1796), the most important port of the Taipei Basin was situated at Xinzhuang, which then was the chief city of government, society and economy in north Taiwan. Especially after 1763 when the Liu Clan from Chaozhou started to excavate the Liu Village irrigation system (Wanan irrigation system) on the Xinzhuang plain, the productive capacity of the area greatly increased. In 1780, the immigrants from Guangdong selected the biggest place on Xinzhuang's streets to establish the Guangfu Temple, which in morden days is called the King of Sanshan Temple, to show off the powerful strength of the Chaozhou people economically and religiously.
