中文（臺灣）：此繪葉書名為「臺灣木瓜蕃與住屋」。木瓜蕃為現今居住於南投的賽德克族東遷巴托蘭群的一支，居住於花蓮木瓜溪的上游至能高山一帶，「木瓜」（Vaguai），源自於賽德克語的音譯，意思是「山後面」或「後面」。雖然與同為東遷的太魯閣群都為賽德克族，但互動關係並不良好，甚至常處於敵對狀態，然而與平原上的南勢阿美族七腳川社則是攻守同盟的朋友，甚至在1908年（明治41年）12月的七腳川社事件發生後，不願投降的七腳川社人還與木瓜蕃一同進入深山中。另外屬於賽德克系統的木瓜蕃與太魯閣族一樣有紋面，但不同的是額頭上常有數條的額紋，與太魯閣、賽德克等紋面族群僅有一條的形式相當不同。此影像收錄於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》一書，為葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局於2016年（民國105年）出版。書中記錄了花蓮近百年的城市樣貌，是一本擁有豐富文史與圖像資料的書籍。 |
