| Description |
中文（繁體）：清代以來，美濃庄南向對外的通道因受到美濃溪的阻隔，住民必須於南渡口藉由擺渡才能與柚仔林、中壇等聚落聯繫，甚為不便。日本統治台灣後，庄役所、警察官吏派出所、公學校等重要官署和文教單位相繼於永安老街的中心位置設立，但這些新設機構明顯偏離南渡口，因此與南方諸庄的聯繫依然不便。昭和5年(1930)高雄州政府為了改善上述情形，乃於美濃警察官吏派出所的正對面新建鋼筋混凝土造橋樑，同年10月26日完工通行，即為美濃舊橋。舊橋大大改善美濃連通南方諸庄的交通動態，並具體反映聚落空間的成長歷程，橋齡雖已八十餘年，至今仍十分堅固。 |
