Description
日本語: 多孔性の瑪瑙は周囲の土壌の色に染まる事例。一番手前の瑪瑙は埋まっていた地層が含む褐色の色素が色濃く染み込んだもの。左奥は染色の程度が低く飴色に。右奥は影響を受けなかったため元の無色透明に近いもの。一般的にパワーストーンとして販売されるものは外国産のブラックオニキスが有名であるが、日本国内の青森県津軽地方で産出する瑪瑙は基本的に無色透明や白濁。それらが縞模様になった縞瑪瑙が大半。　七里長浜の埋没林付近でも土壌から油を含んだ赤褐色の液体が滲み出ており、その近辺に埋まっていたものが地表に現れると黄色い瑪瑙が多く混じっている。
