中文：這批相片由台灣新生報記者於1964年10月9日拍攝，主題為國慶勞軍。總統夫人蔣宋美齡、美軍協防臺灣司令耿特納中將與中華婦女反共聯合會、各國駐華使節及外賓組成的國慶擴大勞軍團，赴臺北附近各軍醫院慰勞住院官兵。

1949年中華民國政府遷至臺灣，蔣中正政府以反共抗俄戰爭作為號召全面動員臺灣社會，如何動員佔半數人口的婦女成為宋美齡的重要工作。宋美齡1950年1月自美國返臺並展開婦女工作，號召婦女團結協力反攻大陸，4月17日正式成立中華婦女反共抗俄聯合會，宋美齡長期擔任婦聯會主任委員至2003年逝世。
婦聯會是一個民間團體，設有總會作為最高指揮機關，並下轄各分會、支會、支分會、工作隊等，婦聯會成立之初服務對象主要為軍人，長期從事縫製軍衣、籌建軍宅、關愛遺孤等工作。婦聯會運作所需經費除向社會大眾募款外，更重要的財政來源為勞軍捐，例如電影票、進出口貨物須繳交勞軍捐。勞軍捐沒有法源依據，不是稅捐，但也不是樂捐。

婦聯會和宋美齡的婦女運動並不是要爭取女權，而更重視婦女對國家社會的貢獻及服務。威權體制下的不樂之捐以及婦聯會與黨國體制的關係則成為一大爭議。
