Description
中文（简体）：棂星门是正式进入孔庙的第一道大门。“棂星”是二十八宿之一，古代皇帝祭天，要先祭棂星。文庙修棂星门，象征祭孔如同祭天，亦暗喻孔子犹如天上施行教化、广育英才的棂星。西安孔庙棂星门，始建于元代，原为两门，清代改为三门。中门额题“文庙”，东门额题“德配天地”，西门额题“道冠古今”，赞颂孔子的道德与智慧。
English: Lingxing Gate - The gate was built with two openingsin Yuan Dynasty and then transformedinto three openings in Qing Dynasty. There are "Wen Miao"(Confucius Temple) inscribed on the top of central opening, "De Pei Tian Di"on the left and"Dao Guan Gu Jin"on the right, which all praise the morality and wisdom of Confucius.
