한국어: 누비는 옷감의 보강과 보온을 위해 옷감의 겉감과 안감사이에 솜, 털, 닥종이 등을 넣거나 또는 아무것도 넣지 않고 안팎을 줄지어 규칙적으로 홈질하여 맞붙이는 바느질 방법이다. 우리나라의 누비는 면화재배 이후 적극적으로 활성화되었으며 조선시대의 다양한 실물자료들이 전해지고 있다. 승려들이 일상복으로 입는 납의(衲衣)는 헤진 옷을 수십 년 동안 기워 입은 것에서 유래하였으며, 이는 점차 누비기법으로 발전하여 방한과 내구성, 실용성 등이 뛰어나 일반인들 사이에서도 널리 사용되었다. |
