English: CWGC gravestone of Flight Sergeant Ronald Charles Abbs in the churchyard of Holy Trinity parish church in the village of West Runton, Norfolk, United Kingdom. Abbs was the son of Alfred Charles and Helen Abbs of West Runton. Ronald was aboard Avro Lancaster Mk111 PB243 of 12 Squadron, Code PH-D, which was on a training flight from RAF Wickenby in the county of Lincolnshire. This flight was on 26 February 1945. At 2:38pm the aircraft dived into the ground 5 miles northeast of Market Rasen at Stainton-le-Vale. All six members of the crew were killed. |
