English: US Air Force Photo. Aircraft parts were strewn by the Consolidated B-24D Lady Be Good as it skidded to a halt amid the otherwise emptiness of the desert. (U.S. Air Force photo) It was lost after a bombing raid to Naples on April 4, 1943 and was eventually found in the Libyan Desert in 1958. The remains of all but one of its crew have been recovered. |
