English: This photograph was taking during the sunrise at Kanyakumari. It is the one of the few spots in the world where you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the same area. Also, this is the southern most tip of India.

Generally, I do a lot of research before I go out doing any photography in an area unknown to me. However, this place was an exception. Unfortunately, I did not get any chance to survey the area from where I was going to take the photograph. So, I walked right to this area without knowing where exactly the sunrise will occur. To my surprise, I found out that I was with 10,000-20,000 people who were there to worship the sun in the morning. Majority of these people were pilgrims traveling around south part of India before going to Sabarimala temple. Despite of the fact that this place was overflowing with people, I found a good location and was able to set up my tripod. I was amazed how people gave me space so that I could set up my tripod and they do not accidently run into it.

I used LEE hard grad filters 0.3 and 0.6 together to bring out the sky while maintaining the color of the water. I have done very minimum enhancement to this photograph in Lightroom. Here are additional details: Canon 50D with17-40mm Lens Shutter speed: 1/20 Aperture : 9 ISO 100 NO HDR!
