Summary[edit]

Description
English: The mid-century modern station house of the Douglaston Long Island Rail Road station as seen from the Port Washington-bound platform behind the Woodside-bound tracks in the Douglaston section of Queens, New York City. The building replaced an elaborate Queen Anne/Late Victorian 2 ½ story station house that deteriorated by the mid-20th Century, and was designed by local architect Allan Gordon Lorimer. Though both the LIRR and Douglaston residents accepted the new version, the refusal to preserve the previous station built by William Douglas himself would've spurred public outrage in the latter portion of the 20th Century, regardless of the condition of the aforementioned depot.
