Summary
[edit]Description02023 Earthenware jug made with the use of a potter's wheel, Kotorów, end of the 3rd - 1st half of the 4th century AD.jpg |
English: The jug was made using an advanced turning technique on the potter's wheel. It has a gently rounded top, tapering to a high cylindrical neck. On the highest point of the abdomen there is a circumferential groove. The neck is decorated with an ornament of enlightened stripes. The greatest decoration of the vessel is a large ribbon ear.
The buried girl belonged to the community of the so-called Masłomęcz group, which in the younger Roman period (3rd and 4th century AD) created a highly developed civilization in the Hrubieszów Basin. It is probably evidenced by turned earthenware and glass bowls imported from the Black Sea area. |
