| Description |
English: Exit sign above the staircase to Amboy Road at the northeast end of the Tottenville-bound platform of the Pleasant Plains Staten Island Railway station in the Pleasant Plains section of Staten Island, New York City. A modern Public Address Customer Information Screen used for subway stations can be found beyond the exit sign. Much of the southern SIR Main Line was closed for repairs that day along the St. George-bound platform, so trains were going in both directions along the Tottenville-bound tracks on that part of the island. The road-rail excavator or crane I mentioned in a previous picture is being used by the Staten Island Railway doing repairs along the St. George-bound tracks as seen just past the bridge. I honestly don't remember seeing any MTA markings along this backhoe, let alone SIR markings, so until proven wrong, I'm going to assume this is owned by some independent private contractor. |
