Summary
[edit]Description08182 at Washwood Heath.jpg |
English: 08182 putters past Washwood Heath on 27/09/78 with the M6 in the background. The view is deliberately wide to take in the wonderful wagon line-up which very much defines the era and locale. I'm almost tempted to think including the 08 was a mistake as it gets in the way, but it's one with the prominent earlier style hinges to the bonnet-side doors so I think I can forgive my indiscretion.
Of particular note is the fresher brown paint on the MDO rebuilds with just one door per side. These seemed to be everywhere at the time, but within a couple of years they were gone - along with much of the nation's coal industry. Scanned from a Kodachrome 64 colour slide. |
