תיאור: קריית שמונה - תחילת הדרך
הערות: קִרְייַת שְׁמוֹנָה - העיר הצפונית ביותר בישראל. ב1949 הוקמה כמעברה על חורבות הכפר הערבי חלסה הנטוש. 14 משפחות ראשונות מקרב עולי תימן הגיעו לבתי חלסה כדי לאכלס את היישוב ככפר חקלאי למחצה שנקרא קריית יוסף על שם יוסף טרומפלדור. ב1950 הוסב שם היישוב לקריית שמונה להנצחת שמונת מגיני תל חי וטרומפלדור בראשם שנפלו ב1920 בתל חי. קריית שמונה הפכה מיישוב חקלאי למחצה ליישוב עירוני, לעיירה. ב 1950 הגיעו המשפחות הראשונות מרומניה, הונגריה, עיראק, הודו ומפרס, אל אוהלי המעברה. ב1974 הפכה קריית שמונה לעיר.
