תיאור: המסגד הגדול בבאר שבע (מסג'ד באר אלסבע אלכביר) הוא המסגד הראשון שנבנה בבאר שבע ובנגב בכלל, ובמשך שנים נחשב למסגד הגדול ביותר בדרום הארץ. המסגד ממוקם בסמוך ל"בית המושל", בעיר העתיקה של באר שבע, ומהווה חלק ממתחם מוזיאון הנגב לאמנות. (ויקיפדיה)
הערות: כשהחלה בניית המסגד הטיל הקאימיקם (מושל המחוז העות'מאני) את הביצוע על קבלן ערבי מקומי, שהיה מנכבדי העיר, אולם המסגד לא נבנה לשביעות רצונו, והקאימיקם הורה על פירוק המסגד והביא אדריכל נוצרי מירושלים, שייעצב מחדש את המסגד וייפקח על בנייתו. המסגד הגדול בבאר שבע אופייני למסגדים טורקיים שנבנו ברחבי האימפריה העות'מאנית באותה תקופה. סוג זה של מסגד כולל את כל המבנה תחת גג כיפתי אחד, בהשראת הכנסייה הביזנטית הגיה סופיה באיסטנבול, שהפכה על ידי הטורקים למסגד.
