Name: The ancient synagogue of Ein Gedi
Description: The remains of the ancient synagogue in Ein Gedi are near the Ein Gedi reserve in the Judean desert. There was a settlement in the place in ancient times, to which there are references in the Bible, but the findings in the synagogue are from the 3rd century AD, when the settlement was revived after its previous destruction from the Bar Kochba revolt, until the 6th century AD.

תיאור: שרידי בית הכנסת העתיק בעין גדי נמצאים ליד שמורת עין גדי שבמדבר יהודה. במקום היה יישוב בתקופות עתיקות, להם יש אזכורים במקרא, אולם הממצאים בבית הכנסת הם מהמאה ה-3 לספירה, שאז התחדש היישוב לאחר חורבנו הקודם ממרד בר כוכבא, עד המאה ה-6 לספירה.
