Description

Night number 5 in Sweden was spent in Falun. The 11 day trip was centred around covering lines from Kil and Kristinehamn which head northwards. These have a sparse service and not daily throughout the year.

Having arrived via the line from Kil continuing through Borlänge, the train terminated at Falun where the crew stayed overnight at a nearby hotel to work a southbound train back the next morning. Operated by open access freight and passenger operator Tågåkerit Bergslagen (TAB), the company have used their ex-SJ Rc locos and coaches on these trains in the past. But on this date at least it was one of their small fleet of X10 2-car EMUs. Seen here is X10 3201 and the train was 7004, 12:35 Göteborg Centralstation to Falun Centralstation. Not the most comfortable stock, but at least one end next to the driver's cab had been converted to a small buffet counter.

Tågåkerit Bergslagen do work some loco hauled trains to and from Stockholm to Göteborg.

Over on the right is SJ owned Rc6 1419 in black livery with matching coaches on train 25, 17:34 Falun Centralstation to Stockholm Centralstation.
