| Description |
English: During 1997, a series of "turn up and go" steam excursions operated between Exeter St David's and Newton Abbot, known as the "Dawlish Donkey". The first years saw Ex-GWR 14XX 0-4-2T 1450 operating these trains. After detraininhg from the return service at Exeter, I caught no less than three HST sets in the station - two in Inter-City Raspberry Ripple and one in the then new First Great Western. At Newton Abbot, it was a Class 158 in Regional Railways colours. |
