The imposing National Saving And Trust Company headquarters (originally known as the National Safe Deposit Company headquarters) is the center building. It was designed by James Hamilton Windrim in 1888 and is an example of Queen Anne architecture. The NSTC was formed in 1891 following the merger of the National Safe Deposit Company and National Savings Bank. The building is currently used by SunTrust Bank and other financial businesses. On March 16, 1972 the National Saving And Trust Company headquarters was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The building is also a contributing property to the Fifteenth Street Financial Historic District. |
