Description
Nederlands: Kaart met de locaties van archeologische werkputten in Hellevoetsluis aan de Maximastraat. Archeologen ontdekten in 2006 op de woningbouwlocatie ‘Ossenhoek’ in Hellevoetsluis grote aantallen sporen en vondsten uit circa 2500 voor Christus, die duiden op een intensieve bewoning. Het terrein lag op een hoger gelegen zandige rug in een kweldergebied (Hellevoeterzand), waar ook veen groeide. De combinatie van vele vondsten, paalresten van (bij)gebouwen en de krassen in de bodem van een eergetouw (primitieve ploeg) wijst niet op seizoensgebonden bewoning van jachtkampementen, maar meer op een permanent bewoonde nederzetting met een of meerdere boerenerven. De nederzetting heeft toebehoord aan mensen van de zogenaamde Vlaardingen-groep. Op de kaart is de hoogteligging van de top van het Hellevoeterzand aangegeven en de 8 opgravingsputten. De oost-west georiënteerde rug, welke zich uit over lengte van minimaal 165 meter, wordt in het westen doorsneden door een latere geul.
