Description
English:
El Timbaler del Bruc, personified by Isidre Lluçà i Casanoves (1791, March 14 – 1809, April 6),    was – and still is – a symbol of the resistance of a nation to an enemy, which was then the      French (napoléonic) régime that occupied and subjected Spain from 1808 until it was ousted in 1814. 
The various statues of El Timbaler del Bruc commemorate the First Battle of El Bruc fought – and won – on June 6th, 1808 by the Catalan population against the French (napoléonic) invader.

This bronze statue (1956) is a larger than life replica of the model created in 1951 by Frederic Marès, now exhibited in the Museum to his name :
