Description
English: W R Lawfer & Company - Trade Card W.R. Lawfer & Co was formed in 1905. In 1910, Lawfer's was replaced by Zollinger-Harned Company. The local Harned and Vollmer family ran the company as Allentown's third major downtown Department store. The Zollinger half of Zollinger-Harned had no connection with Allentown, as William R. Zollinger (1855-28 July 1922) was an inventor and department store investor that lived in Sandusky, Ohio and operated the Zollinger Department store (1900) there.
