English: A Soap Box Derby racer constructed and driven by Wallace F. Waits, Jr., 14, who won the 1960 Magnolia, AR local race and went on to compete at the 23rd All-American World Championship in Akron, Ohio a month later. Wally did very well in Akron, taking eight place in a field of 168 entries. This was Wally's fourth year, winning runner-up for three years prior. The car is part of the permanent collection at the Old State House Museum, Little Rock, AR. |
