Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1963 Rambler American two-door hardtop, a compact car made by American Motors Corporation (AMC). This is the "top-of-the-line" 440-H version featuring a one-model-year- only design of a simulated "convertible" steel roof. This "sporty" model came with standard individually adjustable reclining seats and center console. This car has the optional "Twin-Stick" manual overdrive transmission. Note: This transmission has a bigger gap between 2nd and 3rd gears than did the regular three-speed transmissions with overdrive. This was so the transmission could be shifted as a five speed -- 1, 2, 2+OD, 3, and 3+OD. (Normal 3-speed manuals with OD shifted like a four-speed.) AMC's Twin-Stick shifter had the kick-down button on the three speed-lever to facilitate shifting it as a five-speed. Interior and dashboard design on this 2-door hardtop coupe.
