Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1970 AMC Javelin Trans-Am. A two-door hardtop (no "B" pillar) in the "pony car" class built by American Motors Corporation (AMC). This restored car is one of 100 special versions that was developed and marketed to meet the homologation rules for the automaker's SCCA Trans-Am Series racing. Standard were front and rear spoilers, five-spoke styled road wheels, a functional hood scoop, AMC's 390 cu.in. (6.4 L) V8 engine with a 4-speed Borg-Warner T-10 manual transmission featuring a floor-mounted Hurst shifter and AMC's Twin-Grip (limited-slip) differential. The interior has the standard center center cushion with armrest between the bucket seats as well as the optional AM radio. The Trans-Am Javelins were SST models in Frost White with Matador Red added to the front section of the car and the rear section finished in Commodore Blue. This red/white/blue exterior followed the livery used by factory racing teams. Photographed at the 2017 American Motors Owners (AMO) convention that was held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This show was organized by the Potomac Ramblers Automobile Club.
