Description
Français : Le vieux pont de Beissat enjambe la Gartempe, non loin de la D675 entre Bellac et Le Dorat. Il se situe sur deux communes : Saint-Ouen-sur-Gartempe et Peyrat-de-Bellac.

Ce pont se compose de piles très larges avec un profil en dos d’âne, d’éperons formant un angle aigu très brisant ainsi que de quatre arches : trois en arc brisé et une au milieu est en plein cintre. Celle-ci fût probablement construite après la destruction en 1567 par la compagnie de Mr de La Messeliere d’une partie du pont pour enrayer l’armée huguenote.

Le vieux pont de Beissat a été inscrit au titre des Monuments Historiques par arrêté du 23 novembre 1970.
