Description

This was New Years Day at Lake Louise, I remember the pricing being something around 50% cheaper compared to New Years Eve. Fantastic hotel here and this is where we had the BEST and most expensive shrimp ever that we still talk about. It worked out to ~$4 per shrimp, but it was and still is the best we've had anywhere.

We really like the ice carving festival that happens in Lake Louise around January and try to go every year. The ice castle on the frozen lake is always a treat. Our favorite hot chocolate place is also at Lake Louise, always nice to enjoy one here.

I remember the Sony W7 quite well. It had a lens that said Carl Zeiss on it that could do f2.8 on the wide end, it took AA batteries instead of those crazy proprietary ones AND it had a bit of a manual mode. The choice of aperture and shutter speed was limited, but you at least had some control.
