Description

Das »Ozeaneum« in Stralsund gehört zur Stiftung »Deutsches Meeres-Museum« und ist ein Naturkunde-Museum mit dem Schwerpunkt Meer.

Parallel zu den Ausstellungen und Aquarien im Haupthaus des Meeresmuseums in der Stralsunder Katharinenkirche werden im »Ozeaneum« auf 8700 Quadratmeter Ausstellungsfläche auch Dauerausstellungen gezeigt und in den Aquarien sind verschiedene Wasser- und Lebenswelten aus Ostsee, Nordsee und Nordatlantik zu bestaunen. 2,6 Millionen Liter Wasser fasst das größte Aquarium.

Im Jahre 2010 wurde das Meeres-Museum als Europäisches Museum des Jahres ausgezeichnet.
