Phallus multicolor (Berk. & Broome) Cooke Image location: Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Strong spermatic odour, could be detected from a significant distance from the fungus. The fungi were found on woodchip mulch beneath Eucalyptus leaf litter. They were extremely prolific, by far the most common stinkhorn on the site. They aren’t nearly as common at the location now, with Lysurus mokusin being the most prevalent species. Recognized by sight Used references: A Guide to Australian Fungi
