Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Towering 105 feet above the town dock, a freight train traverses the Parry Sound CPR Trestle as seen from aboard the Island Queen V at the end of a July 2015 afternoon cruise of the "Thirty Thousand Islands" of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada. Completed in 1907 and entering service the following year, this massive bridge carries northbound Canadian Pacific and Canadian National trains across the wide valley of the Seguin River toward Northern Ontario, the Prairies and beyond. It was also the subject of a 1914 painting by noted artist Tom Thomson, appropriately entitled Trestle of Parry Sound.
