GANGESVARI TEMPLE

Village Bayalisbati

Gop, Puri, Odisha, INDIA

Goddess Gangeshvari dedicated, Eastern Ganga dynasty, strongly Vaishnava, with syncretism. The temple has an image of Muchalinda Buddha, as well Shaktism goddesses. A fine sculpture of Varahi. Konarka Sun temple style. 12th or 13th century.
