Description
English: 208-AAN-Normandy-33716: American Hospital Train in France. An American hospital train evacuating wounded from the French front pulls into Garentan on its way to an embarkation point, where the casualties will be transferred to hospital ships for evacuation to England. Through speedy medical care, 97 out of every 100 Allied wounded in France survive, with Allied casualties 30 percent less than expected, according to Major General H.W. Kenner, Chief Medical Officer of Allied Supreme Headquarters. Originally, a U.S. Signal Corps Photograph: ETO-HQ-44-11425. (3/17/2015).
