Description24.01.95 Velgast 202.275.jpg |
Branch line travel at its best. Fully expecting this train to be a single car class 771, a trip on the Velgast to Tribsees branch on 24 January 1995 was instead worked by 202.275 and a single former main-line compartment coach. Train 15307, 16:40 Velgast to Tribsees. Note the branch line departs from outside the main station which was the case for several branches in the former East Germany. Within a year of this photo, the line had closed altogether. Hardly surprising as passenger loadings would rarely achieve double figures on many trains. |
