| Description | Rowhouses are one of the most efficient forms of housing, as they share a common wall with other housing units on one or both sides of a given unit, which helps reduce energy needs by preventing loss through exterior walls on either side. However, they can be dark, cramped, and dreary in some cases, which is why they have gotten a bad rap from the general population in the last 60 years or so. This particular set of rowhouses date to the late 19th Century, and are located in Covington's Riverside Drive Historic District. The Cincinnati area is home to several similar sets of rowhouses, though many were demolished during mid-20th Century urban renewal. Today, these rowhouses have been renovated and are very desirable places to live for middle-class urban residents in the Northern Kentucky River City. |
