Summary[edit]

Description 330-PSA-240-61 (USN 710974): On the wing tip of his P2V, Commander John R. Grieve, Commanding Officer of Patrol Squadron 56, Atlantic Fleet, displays the Captain Arnold Jay Isbell Trophy awarded his squadron by the Martin Company. Patrol Squadron 56 was one of eight squadrons designated the Third Annual winners of the trophy, which is awarded to Navy Squadrons for excellence in air anti-submarine warfare operations. Other east coast winners were Patrol Squadron 8, Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 34 and Air Anti-Submarine Helicopter Squadron 5. West coast winners were Patrol Squadrons 4 and 42, Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 38 and Air Anti-Submarine Helicopter Squadron 4. Photograph released October 26, 1961. (9/22/2015).
