Summary[edit]

Description
English: The 36 & 38 Armenian Street building was once popularly known to be the former Mayfair Hotel. These two clusters of four-storey Art Deco shophouses were built between the 1930s and 1940s. And as mentioned, its most famous occupant, the Mayfair City Hotel opened in the 1950s and established itself as a popular hotel with travellers in the 1960s. The hotel operated until the late-2000s before it was converted into a lodging facility for foreign workers. It was vacated for restoration in 2011. And since then, this building has become one of the rare few buildings in Singapore to still retain its European-inspired architectural exteriors and style overall.
