English: A Charcot–Bouchard aneurysm (CBA) (arrow) in the superficial cortical layer and acute blood in subarachnoid space (arrowheads) and B higher magnification of the same CBA with fibrosis and foamy macrophages (arrows). C In a CBA in the mid cortex, trichrome stains collagen blue and focal fibrin red (arrow). D CD163 immunostain highlights macrophages surrounding and within the CBA (arrows). E Trichrome stain on a different CBA in the mid cortex also demonstrates fibrosis and macrophages.
