Description
English: Nui Dat, South Vietnam. November 1971. Private Peter Edwards of Bega, NSW (left), and Private Ben Reynolds of Dubbo, NSW, retrieve Claymore mines, stamped `Front toward enemy', from their unit perimeter prior to their departure from the former 1st Australian Task Force Base (1ATF) at Nui Dat. Members of B Company, 4RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), the two soldiers were involved in the final evacuation of the area which marked the end of Australia's combat role in the war.
