Towboat "Leonidas Polk" (doc. # 284580) downbound. At Louisville wharf are Boy Scout boat "Zachary Taylor II", wharf boat "Mayor Andrew Broaddus", and steamer "Belle of Louisville".

Twin screw towboat "Leonidas Polk" (doc. # 284580, length 145 feet, width 35 feet, GM 16-567DMT diesels, 4300 hp., retractable pilothouse) Built in 1961 by Southern Shipbuilding Corp., Slidell, Louisiana Originally named "Leonidas Polk", owned by Canal Barge Co., New Orleans [Possibly named for the Episcopal bishop and Confederate general who in 1860 founded the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and in 1864 was killed in action.] Sold in 1991 to Coastal Towing, Houston, and renamed "Ginger Griffin New" Sold in 2000 to FMT Industries LLC and renamed "Big D" (operated by Florida Marine Transporters, New Orleans) Sold in 2007 to Accumarine Transportation LP, Mobile, Alabama, and renamed "Accu II" Sold in 2008 to South American interests
