Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_90390_DSC01927.JPG Notes: לאחר מלחמת העצמאות הועבר הבית לידי האפוטרופוס על נכסי נפקדים והושכר לחיילי החטיבה הירושלמית. בעקבות הסכם השילומים עבר המבנה לבעלות מדינת ישראל. בשנת 1957 הושכר המבנה לשגרירות אורוגווי אשר עזבה את המבנה בשנת 1980 בשל חקיקת חוק יסוד: ירושלים בירת ישראל. המבנה נותר ריק עד שנת 1990 עת מכרה אותו המדינה לחברה הקבלנית של אייל רותם ודני לויט.הכניסה הראשית למבנה בנויה בסגנון אר דקו שאינו אופייני לאזור.כיום שוכן במבנה המרכז הירושלמי לענייני ציבור ומדינה והוא נקרא על שמו של הנדבן מייקל מילקן.(ויקיפדיה)
