תיאור: בן שמן - במתחם כפר הנוער
הערות: כפר הנוער בן שמן הוקם ב 1927 על אדמות בית החרושת חדיד שייצר סבון משמן, ע"י ידי ד"ר זיגפריד להמן, כדי להנחיל לצעירים ערכי ציונות ועבודת אדמה. מבני הכפר תוכננו על ידי האדריכל הישראלי פריץ קורנברג. הראשונים שהגיעו לכפר היו ילדים מבית הילדים בקובנה. הצטרפו לכפר תלמידים מהארץ וממקומות אחרים בעולם. ב- 1932 קלט כפר הנוער את הקבוצה הראשונה של עליית הנוער. הקבוצה התחילה את תנועת עלייה גדולה, שמנתה מאות אלפי ילדים ובני נוער מכל תפוצות ישראל. במלחמת העולם השנייה קלט הכפר כמות גדולה של ילדים פליטים מאירופה.
