הערות: מאגר המים התת-קרקעי נבנה בשנת 789, בימי שלטון החליף הארון אל-ראשיד. שנת הייסוד מוזכרת בכתובת החרוטה בטיח: "בשם אללה וברכה מאללה, ציווה לבנות הסוכן של אמיר המאמינים, יאריך אללה את קיומו, בחודש חג'ה של שנת שתיים ושבעים ומאה שנה". נבנתה כמאגר מים מקורה. נקראת בריכת הלנה הקדושה, בפי הנוצרים. כונתה בריכת אל-ענזיה - העיזים. הקשתות שימשו להשקיית הבהמות. הבריכה ניזונה ממוביל מים ראשי, שיצא מגזר. בבריכה שלושה טורי חמישה עמודי אבן, הנושאים את הקשתות שעליהן התקרה, בה אשנבים שדרכם נשאבו מים בדליים וחבלים.
