Description

Añón de Moncayo: Iglesia de Santa María. De estilo gótico,aunque aun conserva la portada románica del siglo III. Añón fue desde el siglo XII la primera fuerza aragonesa frente a Castilla en la vía del Huecha. Durante la Edad Media perteneció a la Orden de San Juan. La obra actual correspondería al siglo XIV, después del abandono de la guerra de los dos Pedros.


El castillo de Añón es uno de los mejor conservados de la comarca, ya que mantiene su planta rectangular original. Es un gran edificio distribuido en torno a un patio, y tiene cinco torreones cuadrados.
