The original finding aid described this as: Description: ABBY SUNDERLAND - ATTEMPTED TO BE THE YOUNGEST PERSON TO SAIL AROUND THE WORLD - RESCUED BY NASA SEARCH + RESCUE SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY. 16-year-old Abby Sunderland’s 40-foot vessel, Wild Eyes, was damaged in a storm, leaving her stranded in the middle of the Indian Ocean. She finally got a chance to meet the people who developed the technology used to save her life at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.,she met Search and Rescue Manager Dave Affens and a team of engineers.
